ISLAMIC AL-JUMUAA REMINDER AND LEGACY GROUP (http://aljumaareminder.com/reminds about the emergence of Ya’juj & Ma’juj (Gog & Magog):

Before we begin to explain Ya’juj and Ma’juj; allow us to present the verses of the Quran which explain Ya’juj and Ma’juj for this week:

And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: “I shall recite to you something of his story.” Verily, We established him in the earth, and We gave him the means of everything. (Qur’an 18:83-84)

So he followed a way. Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of black muddy (or hot) water. And he found near it a people. We (Allah) said (by inspiration): “O Dhul-Qarnain! Either you punish them, or treat them with kindness.” (Qur’an 18:85-86)

He said: “As for him (a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allah) who does wrong, we shall punish him; and then he will be brought back unto his Lord; Who will punish him with a terrible torment (Hell). But as for him who believes (in Allah’s Oneness) and works righteousness, he shall have the best reward, (Paradise), and we (Dhul-Qarnain) shall speak unto him mild words (as instructions).” (Qur’an 18:87-88)

Then he followed another way, until, when he came to the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We (Allah) had provided no shelter against the sun. So (it was)! And We knew all about him (Dhul-Qarnain). (Qur’an 18:89-91)

Then he followed (another) way, until, when he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word. (Qur’an 18:92-93)

They said: “O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?” (Qur’an 18:94)

He said: “That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier. Give me pieces (blocks) of iron,” then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow,” till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over it.” (Qur’an 18:95-96)

So they [Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog)] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it. (Qur’an 18:97)

(Dhul-Qarnain) said: “This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true.” (Qur’an 18:98)

And on that Day [i.e. the Day Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog) will come out], We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together. (Qur’an 18:99)

And on that Day We shall present Hell to the disbelievers, plain to view, (to) those whose eyes had been under a covering from My Reminder (this Quran), and who could not bear to hear (it). (Qur’an 18:100-101)

Do then those who disbelieve think that they can take My slaves [i.e., the angels, Allah’s Messengers, ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), etc.] as Auliya’ (lords, gods, protectors, etc.) besides Me? Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism). (Qur’an 18:102)

Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds! (Qur’an 18:103-104)

“They are those who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter). So their works are in vain, and on the Day of Resurrection, We shall not give them any weight. “That shall be their recompense, Hell; because they disbelieved and took My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and My Messengers by way of jest and mockery. (Qur’an 18:105-106)

“Verily! Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of Al-Firdaus (the Paradise) for their entertainment. “Wherein they shall dwell (forever). No desire will they have to be removed therefrom.” (Qur’an 18:107-108)

Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return. So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer – no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders. (Qur’an 21:92-94)

And there is prohibition upon [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return (Qur’an 21:95)

Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend (Qur’an 21:96)

And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], “O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers.” Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it. Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein. (Qur’an 21:97-99)

For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear. Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us – they are from it far removed. [e.g. ‘Isa, son of Maryam, ‘Uzair etc] They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally. They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], “This is your Day which you have been promised” (Qur’an 21:100-103)

Ya’juj & Ma’juj (Gog & Magog); who/what/where are they? Both Islam and Christianity agree on the existence of Gog and Magog and that they have an evil presence. Christianity cannot pinpoint who they are or where they are since limited information is provided. Furthermore in Christianity, Gog and Magog are mentioned in 2-3 different forms (a person, tribe or land). Whereas Islam is more clear in providing information which can lead one to research on the matter. So Islam shall be used as the foundation of this research and its findings presented on the matter of Gog and Magog. We will use the Quran and sahih/authentic hadiths to know and locate Gog and Magog In Shaa Allah. Allah informs us:

And indeed We have fully explained to mankind, in this Quran, every kind of similitude, but most mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief. (Qur’an 17:89)

And (remember) when We sent towards you (Muhammad SAW) Nafran (three to ten persons) of the jinns, (quietly) listening to the Quran, when they stood in the presence thereof, they said: “Listen in silence!” And when it was finished, they returned to their people, as warners. They said: “O our people! Verily! We have heard a Book (the Quran) sent down after Musa (Moses), confirming what came before it, it guides to the truth and to a Straight Path (Islam) (Qur’an 46:29-30)

O our people! Respond (with obedience) to Allah’s Caller (i.e. Allah’s Messenger Muhammad SAW), and believe in him (i.e. believe in that which Muhammad SAW has brought from Allah and follow him). He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins, and will save you from a painful torment (i.e. Hell-fire). And whosoever does not respond to Allah’s Caller, he cannot escape on earth, and there will be no Auliya’ (protectors) for him besides Allah (from Allah’s Punishment). Those are in manifest error. (Qur’an 46:31-32)
