ISLAMIC AL-JUMUAA REMINDER AND LEGACY GROUP (http://aljumaareminder.com/reminds about how Jinns impact our lives through history:

THE IMPACT OF JINNS ON MANKIND – 3 – DURING PROPHET MUHAMMAD’S LIFETIME

Verily, Allah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, has indeed strayed far away. They (all those who worship others than Allah) invoke nothing but female deities beside Him (Allah), and they invoke nothing but Satan, a persistent rebel! (Qur’an 4: 116-117)

Have you considered Al-Lat and Al-Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs). And Manat (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third? Is it for you the males and for Him the females? That indeed is a division most unfair! They are but names which you have named – you and your fathers – for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord! (Qur’an 53:19-23)

Allah mentioned these three idols because they were more famous than the others. An-Nasa’i recorded that Abu At-Tufayl said, “When the Messenger of Allah conquered Makkah, he sent Khalid bin Al-Walid to the area of Nakhlah where the idol of Al-`Uzza was erected on three trees of a forest. Khalid cut the three trees and approached the house built around it and destroyed it. When he went back to the Prophet and informed him of the story, the Prophet said to him, (Go back and finish your mission, for you have not finished it.) Khalid went back and when the custodians who were also its servants of Al-`Uzza saw him, they started invoking by calling Al-`Uzza! When Khalid approached it, he found a naked woman whose hair was untidy and who was throwing sand on her head. Khalid killed her with the sword and went back to the Messenger of Allah, who said to him, (That was Al-`Uzza!)”. (Qur’an Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

THE IMPACT OF JINNS ON MANKIND – 4 – DURING OUR LIFE TIME AND OTHER RELIGIONS

Remember; Islam claims to explain this unseen realm (of jinns).  It is from this realm that Islam truly explains to us about the world of the Jinn.  The Islamic explanation of the Jinn provides us with so many answers to modem day mysteries.  Without the knowledge of this world, the Muslims would become like the non-Muslims and be running around looking for any old answer to come their way. In many aspects of their world, the Jinn are very similar to us.  They eat and drink, they marry, have children and they die.  The life span however, is far greater than ours.  Like us, they will also be subject to a Final Reckoning by God the Most High.  They will be present with mankind on the Day of Judgment and will either go to Paradise or Hell.

By knowing of the jinns powers, we can often make sense of much of the mysteries which go on around us.  For example one of the powers of the Jinn, is that they are able to take on any physical form they like.  Thus, they can appear as humans, animals, trees and anything else.  Thousands of people have sighted strange looking creatures all over the world – and it seems more plausible all the sightings of such creatures may have been Jinns parading in different forms.

It is not only humans which are possessed by jinns, but also animals, trees and other objects.  By doing this, the evil Jinn hope to make people worship others besides Allah.  The possession of idols is one way to do this.

  • Not so long ago {22nd September 1995} the world-wide phenomenon of Hindu idols drinking milk, shocked the world. From Bombay to London, Delhi to California, countless idols were lapping up milk.  Ganesh the elephant god, Hanuman the monkey god and even Shiva lingam, the male private organ (!), all seemed to guzzle down the milk as if there was no tomorrow! Unfortunately people were taken in by this and many flocked to feed the Hindu gods.
  • They say that religious statues have a long history of displaying miraculous signs. Another example can be found in Akida Japan; from 1975 – 1981 a wooden statue cried and bleed more than 100 times. There were so many witnesses that the Roman catholic church officially approved Akida as a miracle worthy of belief.
  • Another example is a statue made for/by Christians of the virgin Mary. The statue of her which used to have her hands together as in prayer, had just crossed them on her chest. The media had also given coverage to the event which occurred on 2nd March 2011. This event was also verified by many eye witnesses.

All these feats were undoubtedly done by the Jinn as a classic attempt to make people worship false gods. This deception came upon them {and worked} because they denied the verses of Allah. For example if the Christians had at least followed Exodus 20:4; they would have been spared from a lot of the shirk done today.

You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. Exodus 20:4

Unfortunately, the people who believe in such idols even with/without seeing the above so called miracles see us Muslims as the Children of Israel saw Musa.

The he took out (of the fire) for them (a statue of) a calf which seemed to low. They said: “This is your ilah (god), and the ilah (god) of Musa, but he (Musa) has forgotten (his god).” Did they not see that it could not return them a word (for answer), and that it had no power either to harm them or to do them good? (Qur’an 20:88-89)

And the people of Musa made in his absence, out of their ornaments, the image of a calf (for worship). It had a sound (as if it was mooing). Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to the way? They took it (for worship) and they were Zalimun (wrong-doers). (Qur’an 7:148)

We find that with the children of Israel the mooing sound was their so-called miracle and they actually thought themselves to be superior over Musa; they even dared to say Musa forgot his God. We don’t know for sure what caused the mooing sound but whatever it was be it a jinn, wind; that was no reason to create/worship the calf. This process of creating Idols and then for them being worshipped is a recurring theme from prophets Noah’s time, Ibrahim’s time, Musa’s time, Muhammad’s lifetime and even our time.

It is strange people normally agree it is haram to make alcohol even if you don’t drink it but the same people seem to say that it is okay to make pictures and idols even if you don’t worship them. Please think, all of these prophets mentioned above fought against idols and even destroyed them either through duas or their own action.

I shall turn away from My Ayat (verses of the Quran) those who behave arrogantly on the earth, without a right, and (even) if they see all the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they will not believe in them. And if they see the way of righteousness (monotheism, piety, and good deeds), they will not adopt it as the Way, but if they see the way of error (polytheism, crimes and evil deeds), they will adopt that way, that is because they have rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were heedless (to learn a lesson) from them. (Qur’an 7:146)

Those who avoid At-Taghut (false deities) by not worshipping them and turn to Allah (in repentance), for them are glad tidings; so announce the good news to My slaves – (Qur’an 6:128)
