ISLAMIC AL-JUMUAA REMINDER AND LEGACY GROUP (http://aljumaareminder.com/) shows some of the Quran miracles:

‘IESA IBN MARYAM (‘IESA SON OF MARYAM)

‘Iesa has appeared in the Quran 59 times total: as ‘Iesa (25 times), as ‘Al-Masih’ (11 times) and as Ibn Maryam (23 times). Maryam is the only woman mentioned in the Qur’an by her personal name. She is mentioned 34 times.

‘Al-Masih’ (11 times) + Ibn Maryam (23 times) = Maryam (34 times)

Now before we continue, some of you might be wondering and saying, “Team, what is going on, why is ‘Iesa not taking his father’s name despite the Ayat from the Qur’an and various Sahih Hadiths? Why is this while you have explained in your past articles that it permissible to call oneself by his or her father’s name?”

“Call them by the names of their fathers: that is more just with Allah. But if you know not their father’s (names, call then) your brothers in faith and Mawalikum (your freed slaves). And there is no sin on you concerning that in which you made a mistake, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Qur’an 33:5).

Al-Bukhaari (3508) and Muslim (61) narrated from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Any man who knowingly attributes himself to someone other than his father is guilty of kufr. Whoever claims to belong to a people when he has nothing to do with them, let him take his place in Hell.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever calls himself by other than his father’s name (or attributes himself to someone other than his father), will be cursed by Allah, the angels and all the people.” (Reported by Ibn Maajah, 2599; see also Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6104).

“On the Day of Resurrection, each betrayer will have a banner raised beside him, and it will be said, this is the betrayer of So and so the son of So and so.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5709, and Muslim, 3265).

 

Yes you have a point, but you see ‘Iesa has no father as we all know, and it is because of this that he is the only person who is allowed to be referred to his mother (because he had/has no father).

 

LINGUISTIC MIRACLE OF THE QUR’AN CONCERNING ‘IESA – from Nouman Ali Khan

Notice the different words chosen by Musa and ‘Iesa to address the children of Israel (Bani Israil )in surah As-Saff (the 61st Surah) in the beginning.

And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: “O my people! Why do you hurt me while you know certainly that I am the Messenger of Allah to you? So when they turned away (from the Path of Allah), Allah turned their hearts away (from the Right Path). And Allah guides not the people who are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). (Qur’an 61:5)

And (remember) when ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: “O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed. But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad SAW) came to them with clear proofs, they said: “This is plain magic.” (Qur’an 61:6)

In 61: 5, Muses (SAW) said to his people (Bani Israil): Ya qaumi….which means “O my people!

In 61:5 ‘Iesa (SAW) said: “O Children of Israel!)

By lineage, our identity follows our father’s side. To be from a nation, your father has to be from that nation. Musa can call Bani Israil his people because his father was from Bani Israil. But Jesus has no father. Hence, instead of calling them O my people…Ya qaumi, the word O children of Israel was chosen instead. It’s Allah’s way of honoring the virgin birth of ‘Iesa and honoring the virginity of Maryam. Isn’t that amazing? This is precision beyond human ability. Same surah, different Ayats, One after another. Different words were chosen to address the same people in 2 different contexts.

 

SURAH MARYAM (19th SURAH) MIRACLE OF THE QUR’AN CONCERNING ‘IESA AND YAHYA

The 19th Surah is called Surah Maryam . The number of the chapter connects the story of Yahya and ‘Iesa. We thank Allah for allowing us to notice this 19 miracle.

The Ayats in the left and the ones on the right are set apart by 19 Ayats if you start counting on the left Ayats

(It was said to his son): “O Yahya (John)! Hold fast the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)].” And We gave him wisdom while yet a child. (Qur’an 19:12) “He [‘Iesa (Jesus)] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;” (Qur’an 19:30)
And (made him) sympathetic to men as a mercy (or a grant) from Us, and pure from sins [i.e. Yahya (John)] and he was righteous, (Qur’an 19:13) “And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live.” (Qur’an 19:31)
And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents). (Qur’an 19:14) “And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest. (Qur’an 19:32)
And Salamun (peace) be on him the day he was born, the day he dies, and the day he will be raised up to life (again)! (Qur’an 19:15) “And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!” (Qur’an 19:33)

Notice the similarities:

  • In 19:12 and 19:30 both mentions the Scripture and being given gifts (wisdom and Prophethood)
  • In 19:13 and 19:31 both were given blessings from Allah and were performing righteous deeds. When Iesa comes back he will still be blessed wheresoever he is as confirmed by the Quran. Us Muslims would love to meet him (Iesa); but Iesa will only come out after Dajjal from whom we should hope never to meet him nor his trials.
  • In 19:14 and 19:32; both Yahya and ‘Iesa are mentioned as not being arrogant; Yahya is dutiful towards his parents while ‘Iesa to his mother only (since no father exists)
  • In 19:15 and 19:33; both Yahya and ‘Iesa are assured peace the day they are born, die and raised up to life again. They are very lucky because these are the three stages where we need peace the most.

    Hey, so the last mention of the ayah 19:33 – 19:15 is also the age of Isa when he left the earth at age 33. When he comes back to earth he will continue to live from age 33 and die. That is what is said in verse 33.
