DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS DHIKR FROM SAHIH MUSLIM?

Chapter: The Tasbih At The Beginning Of The Day And When Going To Sleep:

Juwairiya reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) came out from (her apartment) in the morning as she was busy in observing her dawn prayer in her place of worship. He came back in the forenoon and she was still sitting there. He (the Holy Prophet) said to her: You have been in the same seat since I left you. She said: Yes. Thereupon Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) said: I recited four words three times after I left you and if these are to be weighed against what you have recited since morning these would outweigh them and (these words) are:” Hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him according to the number of His creation and according to the pleasure of His Self and according to the weight of His Throne and according to the ink (used in recording) words (for His Praise).” [Sahih Muslim 2726 a]

Mufti Menk’s commentaries of the Hadith above:

{IARLG: We have placed some Ayats below to explain more}

Take a look at the Hadith of Rasool Allah (S.A.W) where he departed for salatul fajr leaving his wife..on the place of reading Salah and when he returned she was still sitting in the same place and he returned after the sun had risen and he asks her, what have you been doing all along? And she said,well I was praising Allah and I was declaring the greatness of Allah.

Alhamdulillah, how great is that? I am sure all of us would love to be able to do that on a regular basis. But now listen to what the Prophet (S.A.W) says, he says, “Can I teach you 4 words that if you were to utter them thrice (3 times) they are better for you than everything you have done from the time I left, to the time I returned.

Subhan’Allah, 4 little words, what are these words? This is why we say, “Do not underestimate the value of the words that come out of your mouth. Be careful, in the same way that good words have a massive goodness of impact the bad words would also affect you negatively in a huge way, let’s listen to these 4 beautiful words.”

Subhanallahi wa Bihamdihi: This obviously declaring the praise of Allah and glorifying Allah. Then he continues to say..

Adada Khalqihi: What amount of praise am I praising Allah? The amount of His creation, I don’t even know the amount of His creation. How much ever and whatever He has created to that amount I am praising Allah.

…. And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge. (Qur’an 16:8)

…. “While Allah has created you and what you make!” (Qur’an 37:96)

And among His Ayat is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. …. (Qur’an 42:29)

Wa Rida’Nafsihi: And until He is pleased, whatever makes Him happy. Subhan’Allah I am praising Allah up to the point of His pleasure. When He is pleased with me, the point of His pleasure.

Allah has promised to the believers -men and women, – Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden Paradise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allah. That is the supreme success. (Qur’an 9:72)

Wa Zinata ‘Arshihi: The weight of His Throne, Subhan’Allah Zinata ‘Arshihi refers to the weight of the Throne. What is the weight of the Throne? It is something well beyond our comprehension. We won’t understand it. These are words of praise of Allah.

Wa Midada Kalimatihi: You know the Words of Allah, the signs of Allah, His Words, are grand, they are great, they are stretched, beyond the east to the west, what we see as east to west is actually nothing. It is minor…in comparison to what Allah has created. So asking Allah the praise that I am declaring of You, the glorification that I am declaring of You, Oh the Greatest One, should be stretched out well beyond your words. Allahu Akbar! What are the words of Allah? They are beyond our comprehension, we don’t even know.
